Ardrossan Medical Centre moves on site
September 27 2013
Work to build a new medical centre in Ardrossan has commenced with Morrison Construction moving on site of a C-listed former police station to carry out a £2.5m refurbishment.Designed by Reiach & Hall the new facility will provide 10,000sq/ft of space for health services in the Ayrshire town; including a GP surgery and community services.
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay, said: "The local community will be pleased to see work begin on such a needed and long-awaited development for the town, that will primarily be of benefit to local residents but will also be a valuable resource for tourists and visitors. It will also transform a derelict eyesore on one of the major routes in the town and return to good health a listed building."
Delivered by Irvine Bay Regeneration Company, in partnership with hub South West Scotland, the project will improve prospects around the busy Arran ferry terminal.
