Fresh perspectives of the £65m Scottish Crime Centre at Gartcosh have been published as work proceeds on construction of the Scottish Crime Centre.Based on Washington DC’s FBI headquarters the £65m centre is co-designed by BMJ and gm+ad architects and will house 700 officers once fully operational in 2013.
Several agencies are set to move their operations to the new facility including the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, the Serious Organised Crime Agency, Procurator Fiscal, forensics and HM Revenue and Customs.
It is thought this centralised service will be better able to tackle organised crime through managerial efficiencies and greater cross collaboration.
