Tinto Primary School creates a new, strong landmark in a largely suburban area, otherwise devoid of civic buildings. Unusually, for a modern school it's public side forms the street edge as well as a new area of public realm, echoing much older Glasgow Schools. The private side is formed by a large south facing safe play courtyard.
